Our ballet classes follow the classical Italian method which has prevailed since its introduction by Enrico Cecchetti during the early twentieth century.
Ninette de Valois and Marie Rambert, the two architects of twentieth century British ballet both studied extensively with Cecchetti. Rambert has called him
Ôthe greatest teacher of his generationÕ while de Valois has written that ÔMaestro Cecchetti left a great imprint on the English School, and was my
exclusive teacher for four years. The important aspect of his teaching will remain a part of the academic tradition of our English ballet.Õ
Chelsea Ballet Schools prepare suitably talented children for Cecchetti competitions, and also for auditions to full-time ballet schools, the Royal Ballet
and Cecchetti Associate classes and the London ChildrenÕs Ballet.
